Candidates who already have proven competence in their chosen specialism through surveying related qualifications or membership of professional bodies may be eligible to become an RICS Associate through direct entry.


Direct entry candidates will not be required to build a portfolio of documented work-based evidence to prove their competence; they will simply need to submit evidence of their qualifications and will become an Associate on successful completion of an online ethics module.

Canadian Institution of Quantity Surveyors (CIQS)

Members of the CIQS at the grade of CEC/ECC/PQS/ECA: Direct entry to AssocRICS Quantity Surveying and Construction pathway.

 

Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (CICES)

Technical Members of CICES qualified through one of the following pathways - Cost Engineering, Construction Law, Estimating, Project Management, Quantity Surveying: Direct entry to AssocRICS Quantity Surveying and Construction pathway.


Association of Building Engineers (ABE)

Full members of ABE (MBEng): Direct entry to AssocRICS Quantity Surveying and Construction pathway.


Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT)

Full members of CIAT (MCIAT): Direct entry to AssocRICS Quantity Surveying and Construction pathway.


Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB)

Full members of CIOB (MCIOB): Direct entry to AssocRICS Quantity Surveying and Construction pathway.
