Associate – Who is it for?

Associate qualification provides an opportunity for individuals working in land, property and construction sectors, with relevant work experience and/or vocational qualifications to gain global recognition for their skills.

There are no minimum requirements to start on the Associate qualification. If your employees are currently gaining experience in their area of practice, they can join RICS and start working towards their qualification now.

In fact many of your employees may immediately qualify for Associate status without further study or work experience – particularly if they have over four years’ experience for example in particular this applies to employees with an RICS approved vocational qualification or membership of an appropriate professional body.

The ideal candidate will have the aspiration to gain a qualification and will need up to four years' relevant experience by the time they are put forward for assessment.

Some candidates may need to gain further work experience or alternatively choose to undertake additional vocational qualifications to reach the required standard. However, If you have employees who are gaining experience in their specialism they can join RICS and start working towards their qualification now. Each candidate will be assessed on an individual basis.
